Our weather has been a little all over the place. Cold one day. A hot blustery northerly blowing the next. Then it is followed again by the low swinging in over Bass Strait.

In among st all of this it has turned out to be just the right weather for roses..

So I am posting a few pics of the cactus I have at my front gate and Anna’s flowers from next door.

the horse races….

Welcome to the Geelong Racing club.

This is the statue that is at the front gate. It is totally made of wood.  My kind of sculpture.

the wooden statue at the gate of geelong racing club.

A friend of mine is a syndicate owner of this horse – it  is called Rampage and is trained by the fantastic crew at Lindsey Park ( owned by David Hayes and family) at Nagambie Victoria.

It was an enjoyable sunny day. I am not a horse race follower so it was interesting to listen to the people around me.  I placed a small wager of $5 win and place on number 5 – Rib eye and because thats my birthday.   It came from dead last out wide around every other horse and won.   Yippee  $58.90. with the combo of rampage running second.

No i do not plan on continuing to bet on the races but this was my limit for this time.

The minute I heard my first love story, I started looking for you, not knowing how blind that was. Lovers don’t finally meet somewhere. They’re in each other all along. source: Jalaluddin Rumi image: Eddie’s Garden, Eddie’s Photos, Red Roses
